Sunday Sketch | Lisa Truesdell

Tags:

This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" grid layout featuring small squares. Our card sketch features a stamped tag and layered paper. Our pocket page sketch uses a small photo with a bold stamped title. Creative Team member, Lisa Truesdell, is joining us this week and sharing her take on this week's scrapbook sketch. Be sure to follow Lisa here at SC to see more of her work!

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Jamie Waters' The Mountains are Calling layout:

Our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's Happy Birthday Bicycle Card:

Our pocket page sketch comes from Tina Aszmus' August 2016 spread:

Here's Lisa Truesdell's take on this week's scrapbook sketch:

The sketch from Jamie's layout is a perfect "stretch your kit" starting point for a page! The small squares are great for scraps of paper, and you could even mix it up and add in some extra photos. I've used it to inspire a spread in my summer notebook. While I didn't follow the sketch exactly, I tried to balance the color and size of the elements on each page of my notebook so that the spread felt pulled together, much like Jamie's layout. The colors in Story Board were a great match for this cozy photo of my son and our kittens.

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by October 31st in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the November 5th Layout of the Week post.
