This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" layout featuring two square photos, lots of journaling, and a bold title at the bottom. Our card sketch includes several layers, stamping, and a bit of added texture, and our pocket page sketch has two photos mounted on 3" x 4" pocket cards with journaling and a title. Creative Team member Kelly Noel is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Kelly here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Melanie Louette's This is Real Life layout:
Our card sketch comes from Lisa Spangler's Fancy a Cuppa card:
And our pocket page sketch comes from Kelly Noel's September 2016 spread:
And here's Kelly's take on our scrapbook sketch:
I loved the simplicity of Melanie's layout that the sketch was based on. She does graphic and simple like no one else! I was inspired by the same basic design. I had three photos I wanted to use so I printed three 2" x 3" photos in a row on my home printer. I flip flopped the sketch keeping my photo towards the bottom of the page and adding the journaling and title towards the top. I love using sketches as a jumping off point, and often times, the finished layout looks nothing like the original.
