Sunday Sketch | Jamie Waters
This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" grid based layout with additional patterned paper embellishments. Our card sketch features a stamped background and layered focal point, and our pocket page sketch features a 4" x 6" photo and an embellished and journaled tag in a 3" x 4" pocket. Creative Team member Jamie Waters is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Jamie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Lisa Truesdell's Love layout:
Our card sketch comes from Carson Riutta's Snowflake Joy card:
And our pocket page sketch comes from Beshka Kueser's PL2015 - December spread:
And here's Jamie's take on our scrapbook sketch:
Hi, there! I used Lisa's scrapbook layout sketch as the inspiration for my layout using the Cypress Grove Scrapbook kit. I used the negative frame as my page's base, housing my photos and embellishments. Instead of leaving any negative space in the grid, I mostly filled mine up with photos and an assortment of goodies from the Cypress Grove Scrapbook kit. I love how all of the kit's pieces compliment each other. The negative frame is an easy way to make a grid layout because all you have to do is fill up whichever portions you want! It's just a matter of picking and choosing from all the cute supplies!
I hope you enjoyed my page, and that this week's sketches inspired you to make something great!
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by January 16th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the January 21st Layout of the Week post.
Love it!

Using the layout sketch. I wasn't ready to use the diecut frame from Cypress Grove, so I pulled little frames from my stash. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/198566-cutie

Hopefully I am sneaking in before it's too late. I already did a layout inspired by Lisa's design so it took me a while. But here is my entry - inspred by the scrapbook sketchhttp://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/198617-17

I realised I don't know what "by January 16th" means (not being a native English speaker, for me it could be either "before January 16th" or "on January 16th". I'm going to hope that it means on and just post my layout anyway. :)
