Documenter Kit Workshop - Geralyn Sy

Geralyn is the girl behind In a Creative Bubble, where she designs memory keeping products in the paper crafting industry. She has been scrapbooking since high school and is passionate about documenting her everyday adventures—both big and small—in paper form. Aside from memory keeping, she also loves travel, stationery, and daily cups of tea.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I love the fresh and bright color scheme of this month’s Documenter Kit. There’s a fun mix of patterns on the cards, and from the assortment of embellishments, I especially love the puffy stickers and the chipboard shapes! They’re a great way to add a bit of dimension to a page without it becoming too bulky.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, I’ll share some stamping tips and tricks and a fun way to create your own stamped journaling cards. In the second, I’ll show you how to incorporate flip-up pockets on a spread to allow more room for journaling, photos, and ephemera. Finally, in the third lesson, I’ll share some creative ways to utilize the kit embellishments outside of their intended purposes.

Takeaways:

Through this workshop, I hope you see how versatile the kit supplies can be! Try new things and think outside the box a little bit to infuse creativity into your layouts. I hope you realize that pocket page spreads can be both fun and simple and clean. :)

Planner Kit Workshop - Jamie Pate

Jamie is mom to five kids and has been married to her high school "Sweethearts Banquet" date for 27 years. Raised a southern California girl, she has called Colorado and the Rocky Mountains home for 14 years now. These days she is found herding her kids around from place to place and hiking the multiple trails found around the Front Range. She has been a creative since she picked up her first Kodak Instamatic during her elementary years. Her first love is memory keeping, whether that is found in scrapbooking, memory planners, or mini albums galore. She loves to teach all things paper crafts and wants more than anything to influence others to take pictures, print photos, and to write and document their history daily.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I adore the One Little Bird paper pad. Those box-point journal spots will be getting a lot of love in my planner. Also, the stamps! One can never go wrong with stamps and the fact that they never run out is such an awesome embellishment for any paper project. I really love the icons and words on each one. And the stamp-edged little stickers with all those icons and happy little scenes on each one! Those are very fun and whimsical elements for my planner pages.

What she'll be teaching:

We’ll begin on the month-at-a-glance spread and how I use the letter stickers, cardstock die-cuts, and even the tab stickers and icon stickers to create a useful and eye-pleasing monthly spread. The next lesson moves right along into the dashboard reset. You will discover why I love this section of my planner so much. In the final lesson, the work flow continues as we reset the daily pages, or the weekly spread the heart and soul of a planner for me. Here we'll discover the charm of layering pieces as well as stamping and die-cutting paper to point to the important stuff.

Takeaways:

My hope with this workshop is that you will be empowered to make use of the content of the "Alfresco" Kit. My wish is that you will see these pieces with fresh eyes and even discover a workflow for your planner resets in future months. My wish is to motivate and encourage the use of your planner as not just a place to write down the dentist appointment, although that is super important, but to go a little deeper and document your plans and goals, capture the busyness of the day-to-day, and design a pretty place to create and document your history.

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Kelly Noel

Kelly Noel has been an art lover her entire life. Scrapbooking was a perfect fit for her, and she started recording her memories in 1997 while in college. She found the online scrapbooking community in late 2004 and was totally obsessed from that time on. Kelly lives in Florida with her husband Tom and their three boys (Jackson, Brady, & Sawyer), and when she's not at one of her boys' baseball games, she's working with Studio Calico's teachers as the Education Content Coordinator.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I love the bold colors in this month’s kit. I’m a big fan of using color on my pages, and this month’s kit is great for all of those late spring and early summer photos. My favorite embellishment this month is the vellum speech bubbles! They are fun to use in excess on a single page or as small accents on various pages.  This kit is very gender-neutral. It doesn’t scream boy or girl; it’ll work great for a variety of photos and topics!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, learn how repetition can create a fun, dynamic design for your layout. During the second lesson, use printables to spark a page design. And, finally, use a themed stamp set to document an event.

Takeaways:

This month, we’ll use the products in the kit to drive our page designs, we’ll make use of the workshop printables to create a fun layout, and use a themed stamp set to document an event. Throughout this workshop, I hope you'll be inspired with create in new ways with your kit supplies.
