10th Anniversary Challenge | Use Punches

For even more 10th Anniversary fun, we've rounded up ten of our favorite past blog challenges. We've asked our current Creative Team to share their take on these fun challenges, and we hope you'll play along too!

In this weekly challenge from 2013, we asked you to put your punches to good use and use them on a project. April Foster and Lisa Truesdell shared some inspiring ways to use their punches!

April used square punches with strips of patterned paper, and then she went back and filled them with words, photos, and contrasting paper.

Lisa stuck with her three favorite shapes—circles, arrows, and stars—and repeated them throughout her spread.

And here's Creative Team member Jamie's take on this past challenge:

My favorite punch of all time is this Fiskars circle punch. It's about 2" wide, so it's small but not too small. It actually has lasted me over 10 years and just died when I punched my last circle for this layout!

Punching circles is one of my sure ways of making my products stretch. A little goes a long way! I love how I can combine so many different patterns and textures, add some stamps and stickers, and feel like my project is complete. The circle punch is definitely one of my MUST have tools in scrapbooking!

Let's see how you use punches for a chance to win a $10 GC to the Studio Calico shop! When you complete this challenge, upload it to the member gallery and leave a link to your project in the comments below. See all of our 10th Anniversary challenges here.

I broke out my star, 1" circle and my banner punches for this awesome July LOAW flag challenge that @CeliseMcL came up with. It was so fun trying to decide just how to interpret it. I decided to document the Welcome Home reception photo of my Father-In-Law from last October. It was perfect for documenting this wonderful tribute they give the veterans returning from their Old Glory Honor Flight.

This page started because I wanted to use my 1 inch circle punch to cut out these circles from the free printable from the Studio Calico NSD crop 2017. I love how the rainbow circles look across the page. I also used a tag from the printable as a journaling spot.
