Guest Feature | Laura Kurz

We are thrilled to have ten past Studio Calico designers joining us this month in the Creative Team gallery! Each day for the next ten days, we'll be sharing a little more about each of these amazingly creative ladies—we hope you enjoy catching up with them as much as we have!

I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with my husband Ken, kids Charlie and Clara, and golden retriever Gracie. By day I work as the Director of Advancement for a small independent school. By night, I'm a reading, memory-keeping, night owl. When not at home, I can usually be found at the beach or the pool, always with a book.

I was a previous member of the Studio Calico design teams, first as a scrapbooker and then as a project-lifer. I always loved (and still do) the quality of the SC products and the thought that went into creating the kits, as well as the friendships and community that came with being an active member. It's what I miss the most!

When I opened the box for the kit, I got SO excited. First because I haven't gotten the scrapbook kit in awhile (I've been a documenter subscriber forever). But second because there was just so. much. good. stuff! I love using lots of little details on my pages and I'm a huge fan of "grid" layouts that lend themselves to getting a lot in a little space. I had this little tiny photo of a text from one of Charlie's teachers that I paired with a larger one of him from outside of school.
