Using the Starlight Kits with Jen Chapin

Tags:

Hey, everyone! It's Jen here, and today I'm sharing a fun watercolor layout that I created with the "Starlight" Scrapbook Kit, as well as a few extras. This technique is sometimes called the "packaging" or "smooshing" technique. To start, all you need is some watercolors, a brush, and a piece of plastic packaging. Paint the watercolor on to the plastic, then simply smash it on to your scrapbook page. The result is a soft watercolor look, and it's really fun to mix colors, too!

For the top of this page, I used a mixture of papers from the Scrapbook Kit and stitched through the edges after adhering. This adds a bit of texture. After the watercolor was dry and I adhered my photo, I stamped my title. I just love using alphabet stamps! This one is great and works perfect for a school-themed page.

I also used the airplane stamp from the stamp subscription stamp because I thought it was a fun touch. I embellished with pieces from the kit—sequins and enamel crosses. After some journaling and a date stamp, my page was complete!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you'll try out this technique if you haven't already!
