Sunday Sketch | Jamie Waters
This week our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" layout featuring large geometric shapes down the right-hand side of the page with a title, two vertical photos, and some journaling over layering. Our card sketch has a stamped background with small embellishments scattered throughout and sentiment on a banner in the upper right-hand corner. And our pocket page sketch features a 4" x 6" title card with paper strips and embellishment and a 4" x 6" photo card with sentiment in the upper right-hand corner. Creative Team member Jamie Waters is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's card sketch! Be sure to follow Jamie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Kelly Noel's Sweet Boy layout:
Our card sketch comes from Natalie Elphinstone's Growing Family card:
And our pocket page sketch comes from Carson Riutta's September Magic spread:
And here's Jamie's take on our card sketch:
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today's blog post! I love sketches and today's was super fun. I chose the sketch based on by the card Natalie made. I was inspired by the florals along the bottom of her card and knew instantly that I could use the die-cuts in October's Scrapbook Kit along the edge of my photo. I chose an enlarged black and white photo that I felt was timeless. The leaves and florals just pop off the black and white photo with the kraft cardstock—I love it!
To give my layout a little anchor above, I used two patterned paper strips. For the title, I chose the clear sticker phrase and added a few other elements nearby. This little cluster has a lot of fun textures going on that really work for me. I always enjoy seeing bits and pieces of the kit working together. That's what makes it fun—exploring all the different pieces and seeing them work. It's one of the many reasons why I love Studio Calico kits!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're inspired by one of the sketches we have for you today!

Love that layout Jamie! I also used the card sketch for a page in my journal. I scrapped this months "day before reveal" survey.

Thanks Jamie for the sketches! Loved your take on the card sketch. I used the scrapbook sketch with the goal of using only the products from the Starlight scrapbook kit -- accomplished!! I flipped the sketch and Kelly Noel's LO was full of inspiration.
