Using the Gypsy Moon Kits with Morgan Stockton

October has ushered in a change in season, a change in weather, and the biggest change of all: a change in location + occupation. The month feels like it’s barely started and my head is already reeling with all the “new” that I’ve been soaking in. The rich, beautiful colors of the "Gypsy Moon" Kits have had an inspiring and calming effect on my kind of addled post-move brain. Sitting down to document some of my recent experiences was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered (not really, but we can dream that doctors are out there suggesting paper crafting cures, amiright?).

Well, this past week was the still-brand-new Week Two of my new job. I’ve been enjoying it a great deal but WOW, I forgot how stinking hard being the “new kid at school” is. I was incredibly pleased to see that the "Gypsy Moon" Documenter Kit included some #ACCURATE cards to my current life. I began this spread with the “The best time for new beginnings is now” journal card; the sentiment was spot on and super uplifting. Since full journal cards can sometimes really take over a Traveler’s Notebook page, I cut down the card to be just the quote without a lot of negative space. I then layered the quote with one of the incredible patterned cards—this one cut down to a banner shape—to draw more attention to the white-background card. This paired with some of my own lettering creates the perfect, strong lead-in.

Feeling inspired by the week-days journal card, I wanted to list out some of my key accomplishments at work from the past week. I cut this card down as well to make each day of the week its own small slice; that way I could give a larger margin between days and have more room to write beside. Using what was left of the same patterned card on the left, I also layered patterning behind the days of the week to ground them and balance the left and right pages. I’m always a fan of the 3D dot stickers so I couldn’t resist using the ones from this month’s add-on as bullet points.

The final section of my spread uses one of the clear stickers from the Planner Kit which touts a “Work in Progress” mantra. New jobs always come with items that you just really have to work at…it sucks going from something that you knew like the back of your hand to being the newbie again, but I won’t be discouraged! I’ve made myself a mini checklist with one of the list stickers from this month’s kit. Priority 1: Learn. People’s. Names. UGH—my biggest weakness. But I’ll “Get [my] groove on” and make it happen.

What changes has autumn ushered in for you? Are you excited/terrified/surprised by them? I’m sure you’re #NailingIt. Also, anyone have tips for unpacking like A MILLION boxes. I’m pretty much drowning in them. #SendHelp.
