Using the Northern Lights Scrapbook Kit with Mandie Pierce

Hi! Mandie here with a fresh layout using the "Northern Lights" Scrapbook Kit. The kits this month were so pretty! I love all of the wintry patterns and colors! The blues and burgundy and yellows are gorgeous! I wound up using them all in small doses.

One of my favorite things in the kit was the snow falling transparency. It is so cute! Having lived in Florida, Alabama, and California in the past, I just don't have a lot of snow/wintry photos. We managed to get a little snow once when we were in Alabama; so I chose these photos to use.

I wanted the transparency to shine, so I layered it over white cardstock. Because I didn't want to have adhesive showing, I stapled chipboard at the top left and bottom right corners. I also sewed my title down, which helps hold the transparency in place. I cut "snow" from white cardstock on my Silhouette. The font I used is actually the digital stamp brush of a stamp set from Jasmine Jones. I welded them together in the software to link all of the letters together.

I wanted to keep the embellishments simple—again, to let that transparency shine. I used the small yellow letters to complete my title. I used the banners and the mitten chipboard on the top. I used the "Winter Wonderland" at the bottom to highlight my journaling. Then I scattered a few of the adorable enamel dots. I did it that way to mimic the snow.
