Video | Using the Northern Lights Documenter Kit with Marie Lottermoser

Hi, everyone! It’s Marie, and I’m excited to be here today to share how I used the "Northern Lights" Documenter Kit to create not one, not two, but three different Traveler's Notebook spreads. If you're anything like me, you can get really busy during the month of December, and it can be hard to fit in all of your scrapbooking. At the same time, I like to document the season as it happens. If I wait too long to get my photos in an album, I never seem to get back to them.

This month, I had a lot of holiday photos with limited time, so I decided to work on multiple pages at once. I printed all my photos out together on a single sheet of photo paper. I only used the "Northern Lights" Documenter Kit and a few basic essentials, so everything was well coordinated and right in front of me. I was a little worried that working on three pages at once would be confusing, but guess what…it ended up being simple and fun! Take a look at my video below to see how my notebook came together.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Some Traveler's Notebook inserts have thinner paper, so leaving a blank page between layouts will help ink and journaling to not show through. You can adhere blank pages to the back of your regular pages and never notice they are there.
  • Put together a little kit of the essentials you need and have it handy. My essentials include adhesive, a paper trimmer, a stamp block, ink, scissors, a pen, and my Documenter Kit. By keeping your supplies simple, you'll move faster and not get overwhelmed with too many options.
  • Consider using the journaling cards in your kit to frame your photos. They add a pop of color and can add structure to your pages.
