Journaling Prompts | Candyland

Journaling is a great way to capture the details that make up your everyday life. Whether you're telling in-depth stories or simply captioning a photo, your words are important to preserving your memories for years to come. The following journaling prompts are perfect for pairing with this month's "Candyland" Kit, or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Let the "Currently" card from the kit spark your ideas.

Marie Lottermoser used the blue "Currently" card from this month's kit to spark three ideas to journal about on her spread, February Favorites. These short blurbs capture an idea of what life is currently like which will be great reminders to look back on in the future!

Barbara Picinich used the blue "Currently" card on her spread, Candyland Documenter | April 2017, to add a detailed memory to accompany a photo. Many different stories can be told using the same card as a start!

Record the details of each day.

In her spread Week 1 - 2018Candace Perkins used the Fill In add-on stamp set to create a repeating title, then journaled about each day. This is a great way to capture the details, emotions, and stories you wouldn't normally record in a spread.

Pam Baldwin used the day pie-pieces from the kit to create headers for her journaling cards on her spread Candyland Documenter – Monday to Sunday. Each day holds a full card of details and in-depth stories.

Use a stamp to document your words.

Candance Perkins used stamps from the Fill In stamp set to caption her photos with descriptive words on her spread Love Your Faces. Stamping onto photos is a fun and unique way to add more journaling to your project.

Pam Baldwin used the ribbon stamp from the Good Job stamp set to journal about her family's game night winner on her spread, Candyland Documenter + Digitals. Pairing icons with journaling is a fun way to incorporate your words into the design of your page.

Use a quote card.

When you don't have a lot to say, adding a quote card can be the perfect way to capture your sentiment. Carson Riutta added a quote card to her spread, February Love, and it perfectly sums up the theme of her page!

Carson Riutta also added a quote card to her spread, March Florals. While it's not the only journaling on her page, this card adds a sweet sentiment while also adding to the overall design and color scheme.

Fill in the blank.

Guest designer Leontien van Veen used the fill in the black card to prompt her journaling on her project, Week 01 | Right. These types of cards are great for sparking ideas.

Carson Riutta utilized the Fill In stamp set in a unique way on a journaling card on her page, Hey New Year! Using the "What I Like About You" embellishment as a header, she stamped descriptive words from the set below to fill in the rest of her sentence.

There's so much you can say with the "Candyland" Kits and February add-ons. Which journaling prompt do you plan on trying out this month? Post your creations in the gallery and add a link in the comments. We can't wait to see what you'll make!
