Using the Be Happy Kits with Marcy Penner
Tags:If there's one thing I'm really loving right now it's stacking elements on my spreads...notebook or traditional scrapbook page it doesn't matter! It's a great way to play around with traditional supplies and little bits and pieces of things in your stash. I can't be the only one who has a drawer of little precious bits of patterned paper that she just can't bear to throw out.

On this layout in my "Be Happy" April gallery, I challenged myself to incorporate a journaling card (or two) from the Documenter Kit on my spread. After a little playing around with my photo and the cute little rain cloud card, I decided that a long narrow column would be a great way to emphasize the rain on the card and its vertical orientation.

From there, it was just a matter of arranging my elements and layering a few stickers on top of the card and my journaling tag to give them a little more interest.

I think it's pretty clear that "stacked" is my new "grid" when it comes to page designs. It's a great design that works particularly well on 8.5" x 11" scrapbook pages and the narrow pages of traveler's notebooks. It compliments the height of the page and provides a well-designed spread in a minimal amount of time! I hope you give this design a try in your next project! I think you might just love it as much as I do.
