Journaling Prompts | Hey Girl

Journaling is a great way to capture the details that make up your everyday life. Whether you're telling in-depth stories or simply captioning a photo, your words are important to preserving your memories for years to come. The following journaling prompts are perfect for pairing with this month's "Hey Girl" Kit, or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Add your words to your photos.

Pam Baldwin added her journaling directly on top of her photos on her layout, Hey Girl Documenter + Digital. Not only does this technique add interest and dimension to her design, but it also allows her to include more on one page!

On her spread, April 2018Kelly Noel added journaling to her photos in the form of puffy stickers. By pairing each phrase with a corresponding moment, she was able to capture more details from each story!

Recap the event.

On her layout, Week 18 of 2017Jessica Upton used the recap journaling card to write a quick overview of her week. This card is a great prompt for capturing several moments with a similar theme!

Pam Baldwin used the recap journaling card, as well as several others, to record in-depth stories on her spread, Hey Girl Documenter. She's sure to appreciate all the detail she recorded when looking back on this layout!

Repeat elements.

Amy Gretchen featured the heart bubble stamp as a repeating element to help get her details recorded on her spread, Be Yourself. We love how she included extra white space below the stamping to write her words and that she paired each one with a colorful puffy sticker!

On her spread, Wishes For YouCandace Perkins used the puffy stickers from her kit to journal simple wishes for her little guy. This repeated style of journaling is simple yet stunning and creates a consistent page!

List it out.

Listing simple details from her week was the perfect journaling for Amy Gretchen's spread, Hello Spring. These are the thoughts she'll love to look back on for years to come!

On her spread, Hey Girl Documenter Main Only | May 2017Barbara Picinich listed out her current favorite songs. We love to see those details documented!

Tell the full story.

For her project, New York Album - Day 1Pam Baldwin dedicated a whole page to her story. Paired with the city skyline stamp from the New York City stamp set, this technique is a fun way to capture all the details of an event!

There's so much you can say with the "Hey Girl" Kits and May add-ons. Which journaling prompt do you plan on trying out this month? Post your creations in the gallery and add a link in the comments. We can't wait to see what you'll make!
