Tips & Tricks | Mama Elephant Design Team

Hi! It's JJ Bolton from the Mama Elephant DT and I'm sharing a little card I made using the Cuppa kit and the Cinnamon Spice add-on! Today I'm showing a tip on how you can add a bit of texture and color by using multiple embossing powders on one stamp. For my focal point, I'm using the fabulous (and exclusive) Christmas houses stamp that Mama Elephant designed just for Studio Calico. You're going to love these stamps! Let's get to the card, shall we?

The first step is to blend ink over the background paper. I chose the fantastic One Little Bird Studio Calico patterned paper with the stars. Swoon!

After blending ink over the background paper, use embossing ink and stamp the houses along the bottom edge of the background panel.

Now for the sentiment. Stamp and emboss the sentiment in white onto vellum and trim into a rectangle. Now you're ready to to assemble all the pieces. First, the background panel is glued to the card front. Next, glue the silhouette over the background panel. The colorful embossing of the garlands will show between each house. Finally, attach the sentiment to the card front with washi tape. Love that silver washi!

Hi, it's Emily Leiphart and I'm super excited to be joining Studio Calico this month and creating with the November Card Kits. Studio Calico is one of my favourite manufacturers and I love their patterned papers. One of this month's card add-on kits, Cinnamon Spice, includes a full-sized holiday stamp set designed by Mama Elephant and it's amazing. In my video below, I share two cards created from both the Cinnamon Spice kit as well as the main card kit, Cuppa.
