Sunday Sketch | Shanna

Tags:

This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with a triangle background design. Our card sketch features a scatter of sequins & our Project Life sketch uses a large arrow and a a grouping of embellishments. Creative Team member, Shanna Noel, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our card sketch. Be sure to follow Shanna here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 sketch comes from Kelly Noel's Baby Steps layout:

Our card sketch comes from Aga Malyszek's Thank You So Much card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Suzy Plantamura's Project Life Week 10:

Now let's see Shanna's take on our layout sketch:

When I saw the layout from Kelly I was drawn in and inspired. I knew I wanted to work with squares and play with pattern. When I first started pushing the paper around I thought it would be fun to sew a bunch of squares together and flip them up to create this 3-D effect. Once I pulled them over to my layout one square landed as a diamond and the string from sewing them together was dangling below... I immediatly saw a kite.. and the layout quickly came together after that!

Supplies: Bluegrass Farm Scrapbook kit, Bessie Add-on, Clover add-on, Glossy Accents

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by May 5th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop.
