#NSDatSC | Challenge 03 - Washi Washi Washi

Washi tape is one of those "can't have enough" supplies - and it's always a way to add a little color to a page. Why not take on our next challenge and do MORE with washi tape? Use washi tape in three different places on your next project!

Celine Navarro : Hey everyone! Thank you for joining us over at Studio Calico to celebrate National Scrapbook Day!

Here's a brand new layout I made using this month's kit, Camelot, and my challenge is simple : find three different ways to use WASHI TAPE on your layout!

On this layout, I used washi tape as my background for my applique, then to attach the top of my photo and as a frame around my kraft cardstock!

Natalie Elphinstone : I've used three different washi tapes on my layout in very different ways.... see if you can spot them! Firstly I used the Ampersand tape just like another paper layer - underneath my photo and in the clusters, including underneath the "Be You" diamond. Secondly I used the Gold washi to make a flag border along the bottom of my page. I cut it into square pieces and folded one end into a triangle shape before sticking a series of these in a straight line. I used my sewing machine to stitch them into place permanently. And thirdly I used the Navy washi to create my title, which is not as difficult as it might appear. I simply stuck down strips of it onto plain paper before running it through my Silhouette. Using a slow setting, and putting it on 'double cut' meant it had no problem cutting out my fiddly words.

Lisa Truesdell : Washi is one of my top "must have" items for Project Life® - it doesn't add bulk and it doesn't require a paper trimmer. My favorite way to use it in my album is very simple - it makes a perfect border on journal cards or photos! I've used washi here on the bottom of my calendar card, along the top of a photo and to help hold a printed banner in place.
