Hi! My name is Aimee and I have a scrapping addiction. Oh wait, wrong blog. Let’s start again shall we? Hi, my name’s Aimee and I am so excited to be here today as this week’s challenge provider! First, a little about the layout “Make Time for Happy”. This spread is very near and dear to my heart, partly because here in Australia we are heading into the depths of winter and I long for warmer nights spent outdoors, but mostly because it’s such a happy memory for me. It’s for this reason that I knew the layout had to be special. I took my inspiration from the amazingly talented @TaraElias’s ‘Family Night’ – my favourite layout so far this year.
Now if there is one thing you should know about me, it’s that I think in terms of colour. Wherever humanly possible, I try to tie my paper and embellishments in with my photo and, as luck would have it, Camelot was a dead ringer. From there, it’s just a matter of picking your base colours (white, apricot and coral) and then your accent colours (yellow, aqua and pink). But for me, there is always another layer... the sparkle, the bling, the Joie de vivre of the layout, and you better believe this layout has got it in spades – the gold rub on hearts, the glitter ‘best ever’, the gold glitter tape, gold flair and the gold heart vellum. Boy did I go to town on my pretty, shiny stash and that folks is my challenge for you. I want you to pillage your shiny things. Be it glitter, metallic vellum, gold rub-ons, sparkling embossing powder or even just those cute glitter word stickers. I am not going to set a limit for how many of them you have to use on your spread, but if your layout looks like it belongs in a pirate’s treasure chest – two thumbs up! I am on a one-woman mission to make the Studio Calico Gallery sparkle and shine, if only for a week. I would love it if you would help me out and make a shiny spread.
A big thanks to Studio Calico for giving me this amazing opportunity to play with you. I hope in some small way I have helped to inspire you and I really look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Aimee's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by June 2nd to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop!

I had this layout on my desk but couldn't figure out what it needed. It was laid out but not glued down while I moved the parts around. This challenge was the perfect inspiration this morning. I used gold and bronze color shine, a gold banner, gold rubons, gold epoxy stickers from Camelot, gold sequins, gold washi, the gold and white piece of flair for my title - and then my favorite - I embossed the wood tape from Merlin and painted the embossed image with the Martha Stewart gilding liquid from the shop. I felt like an artist :)

Love this Amy, technical kind of question - is a sheet of white cardstock the background? I think it is but thought I would ask anyway - first I thought it was all floating in a 12x12 page protector. I am all glittery shiny sparkly inspired.. thank you.

Thanks so much ladies. It's so sweet of you all to leave me some love. Rest assured I fully intend to return the favour when you post your layouts. I'm so excited that so many of you are willing to give it a go. @toribissell I'm not sure on the rules as far as that goes but I'll Kelly to find out for you :) @Michelle0604 your eyes do not deceive you - they are mounted on white cardstock but if you want to give it a go on a pocket page, I'd love to see what you come up with.

I used gold POW paper, gold-edged ribbon, and gold stars - for a card: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/125527-june-birthday

Here's mine! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/125506-one-month
I'd say it's more subtly sparkly, but I like that. :) I used some color theory sequins, glittered thickers, and that gorgeous sparkly floral charm from websters pages.

I tried a new (to me) technique and I'm thrilled about the versatile possibilities. It makes me want to create christmas cards right now. :-)

Love, love your LO Aimee, congratulations! @adow Here's my take using a sketch. Make sure to put on your sunglasses because I added lots of shimmering gold just for you ;) (sorry for the poor photo lighting, boo)
