Video | Using the Be Happy Scrapbook Kit with Kelly Noel

Tags:

Hello, SC friends! I'm happy to be here today sharing my love for the "Be Happy" Scrapbook Kit! This kit is gorgeous and has so many wonderful spring elements sure to bring some sunshine to your pages. Or some rain clouds. ;) I loved the patterns in this month's kit, so when I saw this rainy paper with the clouds, I knew I wanted to use it in conjunction with the silkscreen in the kit to document a rainy movie day with my boys.

Watch the video to see how I combined one sheet of patterned paper with the silkscreen to create a great foundation for my layout.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Using the silkscreen can be a little messy. I'm not a messy person and I typically avoid messy techniques. This was definitely worth it though! Using patterned paper to mask off my background didn't work very well, so try washi tape or another method if you want to avoid getting paint around the edges of silkscreen.
  • I've always believed that patterned paper is the most versatile product. Look for elements in the papers that you can cut out and use to decorate your pages.
  • Since this layout ended up with a fairly busy background, it didn't need much embellishing.
  • When placing elements around your page, think of the visual triangle. Placing three like items (either in size, shape, or color) in a triangle formation on your page will help your eye travel around the page.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to pull out your "Be Happy" Kit and break out the paint and fine-tip scissors to create a fun background for your next project!
