This week, our layout sketch is a 12x12 layout with four small photos and lots of patterned paper details. Our card sketch features strips of patterned papers and strips for the sentiment and our Project Life sketch uses a large photo and a block for plenty of journaling. Creative Team member, Becky Novacek, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our layout sketch. Be sure to follow Becky here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 12x12 layout sketch comes from Celine Navarro's Hello San Diego! layout:

Our card sketch comes from Deb Duty's New Addition card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Leena Loh's Week 32 spread:

And here's Becky's take on our layout sketch:

I am a pretty diehard 8.5x11 fan, so I took the 12x12 sketch design and used it for an 8.5x11 layout. It's usually pretty easy to convert any sketch to this size, so I try to be open-minded about sketches and let them morph into something that may or may not look quite different than the original sketch.
I am still enjoying the last bits of my Hercules kit and used the floral paper (that I love!) on this project. The title on this layout morphed a little too and I was thrilled to be able to use my gold alpha stickers from the Dickinson add-on kit! I am also a big fan of Marcy's labels every month and used the last of the ones I printed for this layout. I never tire of them...they are just so versatile and definitely a staple for me. I haven't done any handwriting to speak of on a project for a while, so I thought it was time.

Supplies: Hercules add-on kit, Dickinson add-on kit, Whitman add-on kit, Poet Society Printable Labels
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by September 29th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the October 4th Layout of the Week post.

I don't usually do more than 1 photo on a layout, and for this page I used 6! Thank you!

Used the card sketch. It was fun trying something a little bit different. Thought it would be fun to tear strips after blending distress inks on cardstock.
