I am a super huge fan of Tracy's work and I immediately fell in love with her layout. I happened to have my Carolina Moon kits out on my workspace and when I saw the striped Studio Calico patterned paper I thought it would be a great way to reflect Tracy's lined pattern.
When I'm using a sketch as the basis for a layout, I sometimes use just the elements in the sketch to help jumpstart my work. My stripes don't look anything like the sketch's, but they were inspired by the original layout.
The photo I chose was one I took last summer and have been wanting to scrap for a while. I chose some of the High Rise patterned paper to go along with my striped paper and I covered a good part of both patterns with some vellum to tone down the busy-ness of the background.
After I had my background laid out I stuck pretty close to Tracy's design. I used my single photo and added a large scripted title underneath...a few other simple embellishments and done!

When I saw the card sketch I thought it an excellent opportunity to use the blackboard tag from the Frank add on and the heart circles that have been hanging around since cirque.
