Video | Mixing Patterned Paper to Anchor a Layout with Maggie Massey

Mixing patterned paper is one of the things I love most about scrapping and creating. There is just something so fun about using different designs to help tell your story.

In this video I'll walk you through a few layouts where I've used a mix of patterns from the Lisse Street kits...and I'll give you a few tips on how to effectively use a variety of patterns on your pages. I hope you enjoy little video - and I hope you're inspired to mix a few patterns of your own!

Supplies: Studio Calico Kits: Daffodil Scrapbook Add-On, Tulip Scrapbook Add-On - patterned paper, acrylic alpha; Lisse Street Project LifeĀ® Kit - sentiment stickers, Hyacinth Project Life Add-On - vellum hearts, paper labels, enamel dots; Color Theory Stamp Pad - Glass Slipper, white cardstock, Precision Pen 01 Black - American Crafts

That is such a great idea! How do you print a cut file? I had no idea you could do that...

Fantastic video! Thank you for taking the time to really explain the decision making process behind mixing different patterns. This has been a popular discussion the message boards; it was nice to see you tackle the question. You did a really great job.

I also like to cut my papers in half and use both sides. This helps me when I am feeling indecisive - sometimes I just love both sides. Plus, it helps me stretch my kits.

Great video - loved how you explained your process. I love mixing patterns and paper but never actually thought to use two halves of the same piece. Thanks for all the great tips!!
