Sunday Sketch | Lisa Spangler
This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" layout with a patterned heart background, sentiment throughout, and a bold title in an upper corner. Our card sketch features a slightly off-centered title between stamped shapes, and our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" pocket card with geometric features and a 3" x 4" photo card with sentiment and journaling. Creative Team member Lisa Spangler is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's scrapbooking sketch! Be sure to follow Lisa here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Jen Chapin' s Love - Main Kit Only layout:
Our card sketch comes from Carson Riutta's Happy Green Home card:
And our pocket page sketch comes from Kelly Noel's January 2017 spread:
And here's Lisa's take on our scrapbook sketch:
Hey, hey, and happy Sunday sketch day! Can you believe that Easter is less than a month away? I sure can't. I wanted to get going on my cards, and as soon as I saw the the scrapbook sketch all the ideas started clicking! The sketch pairs perfectly with the Easter Stamp + Die Set–it's like the chocolate and the creamy filling in a Cadbury egg!
The card was pretty simple to make, thanks to that stamp set and the sketch. So I'll just point out a few tips and tricks.
- I used "Gray Area" ink to stamp the chick and the bunny–this helps keep them soft for spring. Then, I went over their eyes with a black sharpie.
- I used that same "Gray Area" ink to stamp the egg outlines on patterned paper and then die cut them. I didn't use the outline on the eggs that I stamped though–this took the stress out of worrying if I'd line them up. :)
- This card is the perfect way to use up sequins and other embellishments from your stash!
Thanks so much for joining me, and wishing you all a hoppy Easter! xo

I used both the card sketch and the scrapbook designs for my inspiration for this layout, stamping and embossing and fussy cutting the butterflies but mimicked the card sketch for the design layout.
