Sunday Sketch | Kelly Noel
Tags:This week our scrapbook sketch is an 8.5" x 11" layout featuring a pyramid design made with two square photos and a title as the base with journaling and embellishments above it. Our card sketch has circular stamped images on the left side and a title on the right side. And our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" title card with a list and a 3" x 4" photo card with the title featured on a banner embellishment. Creative Team member Kelly Noel is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Kelly here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Anna-Maria Wolniak's Easter [main kit only] layout:

Our card sketch comes from Lisa Spangler's Donut Know card:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Carson Riutta's April Moments spread:

And here's Kelly's take on our scrapbook sketch:
Working with sketches is one of my favorite ways to get going on a project. Sometimes I end up sticking to a sketch pretty closely and other times, the finished layout ends up looking nothing like the original sketch. For this project, I was inspired by the scrapbook sketch based on Anna-Maria's layout.

I loved the basic design and the way everything lined up down the middle. It left a lot of room for interpretation. My initial thought was to do a bunch of stamping down the center, but I couldn't find the right ones to go with the photo I wanted to use. Instead, I chose a combination of things—a stamp, vellum speech bubble, and die-cut title. I love the way this design leads your eye right down to the important part—the photo!

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by June 5th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the June 10th Layout of the Week post.
