Sunday Sketch | Maggie Massey

This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" layout with a patterned paper background, a horizontal photo, and lots of journaling space. Our card sketch features a centered sentiment and layered embellishments, and our pocket page sketch uses a 3" x 4" date card and a lightly embellished 3" x 4" photo. Happy Sunday, everyone! Maggie here, and I'm so excited to be back for another Sunday Sketch challenge!

For my project this week, I did something a little different, and chose Lisa Spangler's card sketch to create my page. I love working with both 8.5" x 11" and 9" x 12" pages, so the shape of the card and the embellishments Lisa added made me immediately think of a layout!

I needed a photo, so I started scrolling through my daughter's Instagram feed to find something I could use, and this selfie jumped right out at me! Doesn't it sort of look like a toothpaste ad? LOL, she's such a goof. Plus, it was square, so it fit with the sketch perfectly.

I began to go through my Confidant kits to search for papers and embellishments to go along with my photo, and the blues and golds from both the main kit and the BFF add-on kit really caught my eye. I thought they would look so pretty together, and I think they really set off the color of my girl's hair.

I stuck with the same basic layout of the sketch, and even added some mist sprinkles to mimic those on Lisa's card.
