Sunday Sketch | Mandie Pierce

This week our scrapbook sketch is a 12" x 12" layout featuring a centered title and photo with embellishments surrounding the main focal point. Our card sketch has a circular title with linear elements pointing towards the center. And our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" journaling card with a title at the top and a 4" x 6" photo card with embellishment in the top right-hand corner. It's not a secret that I love a good sketch. I'm always excited to be assigned a Sunday Sketch. This sketch was based on Maggie Massey's "Escape from Midtown" layout. I stuck pretty close to the sketch (for reference, the photo is sized 3.5" x 3.5").

Instead of using one patterned paper, I layered a couple more patterned papers for color. I cut my circles from the Fall card set from Life Love Paper. I stamped leaves and acorns on the top for color. I stamped some with ink in the middle, and I stamped some on patterned paper, creating a muted fall color scheme. Because I had stamped all of those leaves and acorns, I didn't want to make the top too crazy. Originally, I had stamped the title with the awesome new Jamie Alpha stamp set, but with the leaves on the top, it wound up too busy.
