Using the Starlight Kits with Maggie Massey

Hello, hello, everyone! Maggie here with a look at how I've used the "Starlight" Kits—scrapbook, planner and the stamp subscription—in my daily documenting.

This year, in an effort to keep things a little more streamlined and less overwhelming, I'm using a personal-sized planner to keep track of our day-to-day. This ensures that I keep things succinct and manageable, but it also means I don't have a lot of extra room to add multiple photos or to write down a ton of facts.

I really try to keep each of our days explained in just a few bullet points—with maybe a photo here and there. For longer stories that require more photos, I'll add pages to my planner, or I'll create scrapbook or documenter pages.

I also try to keep my decorating and embellishing to a minimum. So when it's time for me to document a week, I'll usually grab a few key supplies and just get 'er done.

I recently finished up August in my planner...and that's what I'd like to share with you today!

I keep my everyday planner in my kitchen. It's in this planner that I write down appointments, school stuff, church stuff, and random notes—everything I want to remember. It's not always neat or pretty, but it definitely works for me. When I'm ready to permanently transfer everything to my memory planner, I simply sit down with my supplies and my planner and get to work.

For this month, I used the little star icon stamp from the planner add-on to provide my "bullets" on each day. Then I simply went back and jotted down what we did each day.

I added in some of the little die-cut banners from the main Scrapbook Kit to add some color and interest, and the alpha stickers from both the Scrapbook and Planner main Kits give the perfect emphasis to some of the more important occasions.

A few puffy stickers mixed in here and there add a little texture and more visual interest—and they help to fill in some of the more awkward white spaces.

To finish out my pages, I went back in with the stamp subscription set and the Everyday Magic stamp add-on and added a few little stamped accents.

And there it is! Our entire month, documented and in the record books. Thank you so much for taking a look. I hope I've inspired you to grab some of your kit leftovers and start (or continue) scrapping your day-to-day!
