Holiday Crop | Use an Old Photo

Tis the season of paper crafting everything merry and bright! For some holiday fun, we're issuing ten festive challenges based on Creative Team projects. We hope you'll play along!

This challenge comes from CT member Maggie Massey based on her project, Christmas 2005.

I came across a few Christmas photos from a looooong time ago...before I started scrapping regularly...and knew they had to be documented right away. Thank goodness for the Making Spirits Bright Collection! For this page, I used a simple linear layout using a few of the documenter cards along with my photo. A small little Christmas tree—made with some of the wood veneer pieces—and some of the star confetti help add a little decoration to this quick and easy page.

On this layout, Maggie used an old photo of her adorable kids at Christmas. For this challenge, dig into your archives and use a photo that's at least 10+ years old!

Let's see a project using your "vintage" photo for a chance to win a $10 GC to the Studio Calico shop! Your project can be holiday or non-holiday related. When you complete this challenge, upload it to the member gallery and leave a link to your project in the comments below. See all of our holiday challenges here.

I really enjoyed this challenge! I took the opportunity to look through my mother-in-law's many photo albums, which I have the honor to take care of after her passing a year ago. Among all the nice old pictures I found this from her parents' wedding in 1921.

I still can't believe this trip was over 10 years ago. Hopefully I'll get my last vacation photos scrapped before another 10 years pass.

Here's my take on this challenge. I didn't want to use the original so I scanned it and printed it out but my printer is running out of ink. I"ll have to swap it out eventually.
