Mama Elephant Stamps

Once again, we're thrilled to be featuring stamp designs by Mama Elephant in a card kit - this time, in the Blue Note Card kit and the Cole add-on. Their amazing designers are with us again, as well, and they're each sharing a favorite stamping tip! Once you've checked out their cards, hop over to the Mama Elephant blog for a chance to win the Blue Note Card kit + Cole add-on!

Emily Leiphart :

Blue Note Tip :Use washi tape or masking tape to stamp with multiple ink colors and mediums. On this subway art sentiment, I used two different ink colours as well as glue and glitter. I masked off different portions and stamped the sentiment three times.

Cole Tip : Use a grid mat and a grid block when stamping on angled panels. When the panel is adhered to the card, the images and sentiment all line up with the card base.

JJ Bolton :

My tip for the Blue Note kit is to use the small plastic stars to emboss your card. Just sprinkle over the card front and pass through the die cut machine as if you were die cutting (no embossing pads necessary!)

Geralyn Sy :

Love card // tip: An easy way to add interest to a card is to cut out a portion of the stamped image and adhere it with some foam adhesive. It adds both emphasis and dimension!

Warmest Wishes card // embossing tip: When embossing, you can tap off any excess embossing powder and use a small, dry paintbrush to remove any extra bits before heat embossing.

Laura Bassen :

TIP : I colored my white embossing with Copic markers to give the flames some color.

Jenn Beiderman :

Be open to possibilities that stamps can provide; for example, repeatedly stamping a word block stamp to create a unique background. I punched circles from the stamped background, then blended them in with the patterned paper from the main card kit to create this quilt block.

Nichol Magouirk :

I loved the stacked look of the greetings in the stamp set included in the card kit but I really wanted to use multiple colors of ink to make the greeting pop and match the patterned papers I was using for my card. The easiest way to add multiple colors to a single stamp is to use Stamp Markers. I love how it adds so much color to the card design!

Please join me in saying THANK YOU to Jenn, Laura, Geralyn, Nichol, Emily and JJ for sharing these awesome ideas!
