#NSDatSC | Challenge 04 - Make a Pattern

Take those stamps a little bit further! Start with one image, and then stamp it again and again.. and before you know it, you have a pattern! For this challenge, we'd love to see you create your own patterned paper with stamps!

Jenn Picard : It’s no secret that I love stamps, and one of the best ways to get the most versatility out of them is to use them;). I have been hoarding this amazing stamp set by Hello Forever (apparently I loved it so much I hadn’t used it yet) and I knew when I saw this challenge that the multi stamping world image would make such a great background. It is so fun to use stamps to create your own “patterned paper”. I started by stamping the outline image several times using Stazon on Watercolor paper then filled in the water and land with the corresponding stamps using chalk inks. To soften the look of the ink even further I ran a watercolor brush over it to create an even more blended image.

Supplies : Studio Calico Ring Pop PL Add on Kit- Stamps; Inks: Prima Chalk Ink-Old Rose, VersaMagic Chalk Ink-Oasis Green and Ocean Depth; Ribbon- Seam Binding

Suzy Plantamura : When I took on this challenge of creating my own patterned paper with stamps, I wanted to “think outside the box” and come up with a different way to use the stamps to further challenge myself. I started with the Gallahad stamp set from the Camelot kits. It has a large flat circle in it meant to be a background for the other stamps in the set. I dripped a couple drops of water on the flat stamp and then colored directly on the stamp with a green Neocolor crayon. Once it was covered, I dripped any excess water off of it before stamping the circle on mixed media paper (so it didn’t warp). I used the same technique to add green circles all over my paper. Once they were dry, I added more stamped designs to the center of each circle using Gallahad and many of my older sets with a dark gray ink. I used red and yellow Neocolors to “watercolor” between the stamped circles to finish off the paper. I also used the small circle stamps from the Sugar Rush scrapbook kit to create a pattern with red and coral ink on white paper.

Supplies : Valley High Stamp Add-On; Blue Note PL kit - washi; Office Hours PL kit - label; Camelot PL kit – stamps, asterisk chipboard stickers; Arthur kit – chipboard letters; Sugar Rush Scrapbook Kit – stamps, enamel dots; Bessie kit - banner stickers; Tabasco kit – stamps; Stitched class kit – stamps; crayons – Neocolors; Galahad stamp add-on; inks - Color Theory Blush Crush, Well Red; enamel dots: Essentials Enamel Dots – Green, Yellow and Orange; label stickers - Wanderlust Labels Sticker Booklet; letter stickers - Color Theory Mini Alpha – Inky Black

Stephanie Washburn : I love using stamps to create my own patterns for cards! I'm always looking for flat cards and using stamps is a great way to add interest without the bulk! I used the floral stamps from the Morgan Card Kit and some pretty Color Theory inks and stamped repeatedly in different colors to create a pattern. SO fun!

Supplies : Studio Calico Morgan Card Kit- stamps; cardstock- More Solar White; ink- Color Theory Clean Slate, Something Blue, Sunny Day, Deja Blue, Versafine Onyx Black; tools- Corner Chomper
