Documenting Your Pet | Kelly Noel

This month's Birds & The Bees Documenter kit was full of wonderful cards that are perfect for spring. They were also perfect for documenting the hundreds of photos I've taken of our new puppy! After losing our chocolate lab (she was almost 15 years old) last March, we were finally ready to add another pup to our family. After lots of planning and keeping it a secret nearly a month, we surprised our boys with her just 3 weeks ago. She's such a joy to our family, so I've decided to make a small 6" x 8" album documenting all of our adventures with her.

The spring colors in the Documenter kit cards paired perfectly with the adorable Pet Card Set. I also used the 4" x 6" Dog stamp set to create some accents for my spread. How cute are the phrases in this set?! I love using small phrases and images like these as accents for my spreads. I'm always afraid to stamp directly onto a card or layout, so I typically stamp onto scrap white cardstock, cut the images out and use them as accents instead. This takes the pressure off a bit since I can move things around until I figure out exactly where I want them to go before committing.

This is the first of many spreads for Hoosier's album, I hope to add to it regularly. I know that this stamp set and these cards will be making lots of appearances in her album. What's your approach for documenting your pets?
