If you have a month-to-month subscription and request to cancel after the 25th of the month, there will be a $15 cancellation fee. For subscriptions with a six month or twelve month commitment, you will be charged 50% of your remaining commitment at the time of cancellation. Six month and twelve month subscriptions will not incur an additional $15 cancellation fee if they are cancelled after the 25th of the month.
Update - A response to your questions from our CEO, April Foster:
Late last year and early this year, we took a hard look at how to make sure we could maintain price stability while still providing inspiration, education, and high quality products. We needed to make sure we didn't have money spent on wasted inventory which most certainly would result in price increases which we haven't done in 8 years and we didn't want to start doing now.
Instead, we chose to be better predictors of inventory which means a requiring a commitment from our customers. By accurately predicting quantities, we would not need to raise prices, which after listening to our customers and focus groups, we determined was the correct course of action.
As always, we will continue to reward our customers, especially the most loyal. We wouldn't be here without you! Our current practice is to ship rewards orders on the first day of shipping, and we have not discussed changing that benefit. However, we are constantly reviewing our perks and trying to improve them, and we have been collecting information from our customers on what's important to you as a rewards member. We're in the early stages of analysis there, but do plan to make a change later this year or early next year so we can change as your needs change and as our offering grows.
I understand the concern about canceling with a penalty. If an emergency arises, please let our CS team know and they will work with you as they have in the past. We are real people here with compassion and big hearts and want to always do what's right for you.
Especially for internationals, we couldn't sustain the current model considering shipping costs and excess inventory. In exchange for your commitment, we are giving you the least expensive price, along with 6 months to think about what's the best option for you.
In closing, for those currently subscribing, you have 6 months to enjoy all the benefits you are used to, but at the lowest price. That gives you time to understand how these changes have affected you, your buying habits, and make a decision on whether to stay at the month-to-month price or make a larger commitment.

Posted comments were confusing and I am new to this. So Here's what I see for me. I went to my account, I've received 3 card kits so far of my 6 month commitment. I paid 32.75 for the last two (the first was a promo and was free with free ship and I bought add ons) I look at the chart above for the new 6 month pricing and I see a tiny savings of around a buck? It shows the full price for 6 months commitment is 31.99 per kit. I also see during bundling I can add anything to my kit order for free shipping. That doesn't seem to have changed. What am I missing here?

@SaraV the PL price in the email is incorrect.
This will actually be a lot more expensive domestically for anyone who was spending enough for free shipping during bundling. SC may see more sales for all the PL subbers who didn't purchase extra previously because of the extra shipping.
I just signed up again with a 6 month committment, what to do, what to do!
@Mgodwin89 for PL if you're not going for bundling, it's only a difference of $0.51 and you can now add anything to your order and you're shipping won't go up.

If you normally buy enough to get free shipping, I can see how this would end up costing you a few dollars more.
For me (if I'm reading and understanding everything correctly), I think it will be less. I don't have the cash to spend each month for that $79 minimum and my PL usually ends up over $28 once they tack the shipping onto the $19.99. If I sign up for a 6 month sub (which is what I do now), I'll be paying $27.99, right? EVERY now and then, I'll get an add-on, but unless I go crazy and get more than 4, I'm still at $27.99 with shipping included, correct? I like being able to know exactly how much to put aside each month for this and the flat rates will help me.

The Cancellation Policy: For subscriptions with a six month or twelve month commitment, you will be charged 50% of your remaining commitment at the time of cancellation. WOW. Before if you canceled prior to fuffilling the 6 month commitment you paid $15. This could get very expensive depending on how many kits you subscribe to. Am I reading this right? I hope not! O_o

What I am wondering about, is custom costs for international orders. Packages worth more than about 23 dollars might go thru customs, in which case you have to pay a lot extra. The original price of about 20 dollars was perfect for me considering this. Now, I am worried this is going to costs me a lot extra.

@ramicon If you signed up with a specific cancellation policy, that should still stand. i.e. I signed up last month to a 6 month minimum with the cancellation policy of $15.00. I think that still applies.

I definitely don't want to commit. I've been getting pl since the 2nd kit. I usually spend enough to get free shipping but some months I don't and I just want the pl,kit. So all in all this is going to cost me more. Oh well I was feeling bad about getting SC and ali edwards. I'll wait until this is clarified and then make a decision.

I really hope I'm mistaken here. I really hope so because I love Studio calico and I would hate to stop my subscription.

Total: $19.49 I'm going to be charged over! How can that be possible. Right now If I don't meet my minimum for shipping I only pay like $10...but I always meet my minimum so I hardly ever pay for shipping.
I'm so confused how this could be considered better.
Not only that...even though I've been committed for so long now I'm going to need to recommit for another 12 months? What!

@WhamBamPam I fufilled my commitment with the most recent PL kit and come July will be on a month to month basis. Was considering signing up for the scrapbook and card kit but the cancellation policy is a deal breaker for me. :(

But what if you sub to all three kits? You have to pay shipping 3 times? And if you buy more and reach $79 or $99 (for canadians) you get free shipping...I thought I was already pay $20 for free shipping. But usually the rate for me would only be like $10

I'm confused why long time subscribers are being penalized. I've been subbing for over a year (almost a year and a half) why do I have to make a new commitment for another year. Not only that you have current subscribers who have been subscribing for like 3 years and they have to now commit to a higher rate for another year.

Ehhh. I was just cooling off about them not treating US military overseas addresses as U.S. Addresses. The whole point is that we get domestic shipping prices.... Anyway, this is too much, I need a dry erase board or something to map this out.

If I understand everything right now I'm paying (SB + PL + shipping) 29,50 + 19,99 + 19 (let's round it up for the handling fee) = 68.49
With the new shipping fees gonna be: 37.99 + 28,99 = 66.98
It's pretty much the same for internationals, I'm just hoping that shipping doesn't get a lot higher if I add any add-on.

For Fun - and cause math - buying all 3 subs and nothing else as a domestic sub today would cost you 83 shipped and as a non-sub, you could buy all 3 kits for 89 including shipping. Now it will cost you 91 under this new plan with a 12 month sub. 98 as a 6 month sub and a whopping 105 with no commitment. and the cancellation fees for a sub is absolutely ludicrous!!!!
I'm no longer a subscriber and this new pricing structure pretty much guarantees I never will be again. Actually, it pretty much guarantees I will never buy anything again unless it is during last call

TORI.....If i understand correctly, you were paying $29.50 PLUS shipping for your scrapbook kit..correct? (If you don't purchase enough for free shipping), so $29.50 plus $8? (not sure of shipping costs). With the new scrapbook plan, the price includes shipping, so it's the same I think.
For the PL kit....is it $19.99 including shipping? If so, that's a killer deal!
