Using The Birds and the Bees in Your Traveler's Notebook with Morgan Stockton

Nothing like a full spread to remember a full tummy! My recent Traveler’s Notebook spread is all about our own personal Mac N Cheese Fest 2017 for a friend’s birthday (she’s a cheese-lover, but really, aren’t we all?).

I started with dating my spread with the numbers from this month’s Planner Kit. I’m in love with them; if I could use them on everything, I would. Then it’s allllll about the journaling and glorious photos of macaroni. I took advantage of the “Ate This” stamp included in the Queen Bee Add-on and randomly stamped and ghost-stamped (generation stamped) it over the photos. I could have kept going with it (because let’s be honest…I went for seconds…and thirds) but I thought I'd better to not over-do it. 

On the right page, I went for a big, bold headline with the yellow alphas—also included in the Queen Bee Add-on—and mixed it with the smaller red alpha from the Planner Kit. MUFFIN TIN MAC + CHEESE! YUM. This recipe was so good that I wanted to make sure I had it for later. I thought it was a sweet (not savory) idea to have it right there with the memory of the day. Also, I have to bring up that this recipe was a winner and made me (feel like) a winner. I made sure to take a photo in the style of the county fair (you know the ones…where the farmer stands there next to his 138 lb cabbage, looking really proud of himself?). 

Speaking of winning–I won two awards at Mac N Cheese Fest! Amy and I had made these awards the night before, and of the seven “ribbons” made, I was given two: Best Noodles and Most Compact. To keep these very prestigious awards safe, I added them into the binding of my notebook. I could have gotten fancy here, but honestly, I just used Scotch® Tape.
