TN Ideas | Expedition

Memory keeping in Traveler's Notebooks is a great way to document the details of your everyday. The following TN ideas are perfect for pairing with this month's "Expedition" Kits or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Use bold and bright colors.

For her spread, SummerfestBarbara Picinich paired her warm-toned photo with a bold and bright striped patterned paper on the opposite page. This design really sets the fun and summery mood for her project!

Heather Doolittle paired bright yellow alphas, a bold orange patterned paper, and multi-colored die-cut tags on her spread, Indian Lake, for a fun effect. We love the tone it sets!

Feature the Lewis paper.

What better kit to document the great outdoors than "Expedition!" The green Lewis paper featuring tiny trees and tents was the perfect full-page background for Maggie Massey's title on her spread, Starved Rock. It's a great complement to her story about a fun hike.

Marie Lottermoser featured the Lewis paper behind two photos on her project, Suncadia Hike. It helps the colors in her photos really pop!

Go monochromatic.

Marcy Penner picked a soft green theme for her sweet and simple spread, Today is a New Day // Expedition Kits. We love how she used a monochromatic design to further her focus on the story and intentional embellishments.

On her project, Yosemite FallsBarbara Picinich went with a contrasting black and white color scheme with subtle pops of green. Her color choices perfectly complement her photo!

Feature multiple photos.

On her spread, Let's Go ExploringMarie Lottermoser included four photos! The smaller TN format doesn't mean you have to compromise on memories recorded! We love how she paired one large photo with three smaller photos on the opposite page.

Heather Doolittle included two photos of her pup on her project, Daisy Love. We love the result!

Turn it sideways.

For a fun twist, Jessica Upton designed her spread Enjoy the Journey horizontally rather than vertically. This technique is perfect for highlighting her stunning landscape photo.

The possibilities in your Traveler's Notebook are endless with the "Expedition" Kits and June add-ons. Which TN idea do you plan on trying out this month? Post your creations in the gallery and add a link in the comments. We can't wait to see what you'll make!
